Sweet Cheeks
An all new second chance love story by the New York Times Bestselling author of the Driven series. It all started with the invitation. To my ex-fiance’s new wedding. I should have ignored it.Thrown it away. Set it afire. But I didn’t. I replied. *With a plus one. * And then my assistant accidentally mailed it. Enter Hayes Whitley. Mega-movie star. The man who has captured the hearts of millions. But I gave him mine years ago. He was my first love. He was my everything. Right until he up and left to chase his dreams without so much as a simple goodbye. When he showed up out of the blue ten years later, I should have known to steer clear. I should have rejected his offer to take me to my ex’s wedding. I should have never let him kiss me. But I didn’t. And now we’re left wondering if the pieces of the life we once shared still fit together somehow. First loves are hard to forget. The question is, do we want to forget? Or do we risk the chance and see what happens next?

Sigh…Smile…Swoon…Drool…and repeat!
That was my mantra the whole time I was reading Sweet Cheeks. This book put a whole new meaning to the word sweet and then some. And my heart will burst out of my chest from all the warm feelings that are running through me right now. I have the hugest smile on my face since I’ve read it and I can’t stop thinking about this beautiful, heart-melting story.

To say I love Kristy Bromberg’s books and writing is an understatement, and although I knew she could deliver stories with great quality like no other, I was still a bit scared to meet these characters which I knew nothing about. But they were both so lovable and had such a wonderful chemistry together, I had no other choice but to fall under their spell.
Saylor - typical Bromberg heroine – determined, sassy, feisty. She knew what she wanted, but at the same time had her own insecurities and hesitations which made her kind of cute.
Hayes - OMG where do I even start with him. Such a charmer! He had the alpha, confident, dirty talking personality, typical for Kristy’s men, but he was so romantic at the same time. I admired the way he fought to win his first love back and his creativity. Such a swoonworthy material :)The story was not the typical Bromberg story with painful past, deep breaking- your-heart drama and emotional background. Quite the contrary. It was lighter and sweeter. It wasn’t anything new or unconventional:
- Big brother’s best friend
- First loves who haven’t seen each other in 10 years
- Ex-fiance who is getting married
- Famous movie star
- Owner of a small bakery for cupcakes
- Romantic place on the beach
Mix all of these ingredients with beautiful sceneries and playful moments, cover them with some heart-warming memories from the first love emotions and all the heady feelings coming with it, put some steamy scenes that were scorching hot, some Hollywood drama and action to spice up the story and you have this perfect mixture. The cherry on the cake was Mr. Hollywood superstar who definitely put his #MadA-Game and stole my heart :) I was grinning like an idiot the final 15-20% of the book, because of his cheesy lines and posts. He was simply dreamy <3And just when I was thinking this would be the first book of Kristy that I will not shed a tear at – bam! The epilogue came and I was with tears in my eyes, but with a heart bursting with happiness.
Awesome stand-alone for all lovers of light, sweet, playful, sexy reads. I can easily see this book as a beautiful romantic comedy one day on the big screen. Hope someone from Hollywood sees this and gives it a chance! And because of lines like this:
“Because love is like magic. You can question it—how it happens, when it will happen, why it bowls you over when it does happen, and how you existed before it happened—but you might never get the answer.
Sometimes you just have to believe in it and its process.”
I'll keep on reading Kristy's books as long as she writes them! Can't wait to read Ryder's story ;)p.s Kristy, I truly have no idea how you come up with all these ideas, but I’m in awe: #GrudgeCupcakes #A-Game #ShipsAhoy #TreeHouse
…And the little reference to Driven made me smile, too :)

I was already a pretty big fan of K. Bromberg when I got my hands on this book, and I will admit I held on to it for a while after I bought it because I was in the middle of a bunch of series, but when I finished catching up this was the perfect stand along palate cleaner. It left me feeling all nice and refreshed, and there is something great about a standalone when you have been stuck in a sea of series for a while. Plus this book had a lot of the elements that I like in a book, and second chance ex, a not so great ex, funny moments, long histories, an independent and easy to like heroine, the whole thing was just my jam.
Saylor was so easy for me to like, she's funny and the perfect amount of snarky, she's a business owner who is really driven, and the kicker for me right off the bat, was that she knew when something was wrong in life and did what was best for her. Prior to the book starting she was engaged, and it just didn't feel right, so she walked away (woot go her), of course this leads up to the catalyst of this book, her wedding invitation showing up (with only the brides name changed) and then the RSVP being sent back accidentally.
Hayes is easy to like to, I don't know if I loved him as much as I loved Saylor, but I do think he is the perfect match for her. He was more tactical in a way than her, he was the planner, the one who looked at the whole scenario whereas Saylor seemed to visceral, more likely to have a strong reaction at first and then put thought into it later. Hayes also has to kind of live two lives in a way, he has his life for the public since he is a movie star, and then he has his private life which is a whole different reality in a way. He has these great sweet moments, and he knows when to push and when to pull back, he really just is the perfect compliment for her.
I think one of things that struck me the most about this book is how it was able to pack such an emotional punch, so many scenes really had my heart pumping, and then at the same time had such a great ability to make me smile or laugh out loud. I love the dynamics between the characters, how they could go from being so comfortable with each other because of their history and it's sweet and funny, and then just the right thing would pop up and the angst and heartache would just ram its way in. So amazing. I think because of this dynamic the chemistry and the hot scenes were even better, so great. This book is so easy to recommend to anyone, I think it would speak to just about any romance reader.

I was pleased to see this one and I bought it. Yep, paid real money!
Between review novels and my KU subs a book has to have a pretty good suggestion that its one for me before I'll buy it, and with so many authors raising prices its great to see an established author keeping them affordable. This is still just £2.99 and as its one I'll reread that's great value. As always with KB's books I love the characters, they feel so real, and of course the settings are perfect. From Saylor's shop to the extravagant wedding venue I could visualise them easily. .
I have to sday this though - I hated the title, it sounds so twee, but its the name of Saylor's bakery so it does feel better when you know that ;-)
She's a great girl, works hard, and is trying to build up her business. Then she gets That invite, the one to the wedding, which oddly enough mirrors exactly what she had planned when she was the bride....weird or what??
Who would want that, the wedding your husband to be was having with someone else...and then the invite gets returned by accident, saying she'll attend, armed with a plus one...Then Hayes, film star extraordinaire, comes into the story. He and Saylor have a past, though its been years since they met, after he broke her heart when he left.
The banter between these two is perfect, the wedding scenes so real, and full of snark, and the hashtag parts I loved. Its got so much I love in a story here, great characters, solid plots, humour, snark, and lots of drama and sad parts.
Its a terrific read.Stars: five, a fabulous read, from a favourite author that kept me engrossed for hours and will join the keepers.
